Free Yamaha Show Maker

Yamaha shows, minus the PC.

Open a Yamaha show file right in your browser, on a screen drawn after your console's own editor. No editor install to get started.

New features are on pause until next week. Everything here still works, and you can still post and vote on requests.

Made for fun and given as is. Open every file in the Yamaha editor for your console and check it before it goes near a console. We're not responsible for any damage to a console, a show file or a show.

How it works

Three steps. No PC. No favors from the system tech.

  • Six Yamaha familiesCL, QL, DM7, DM5, DM3 and TF in one tab. RIVAGE PM is coming.
  • Looks like its own editorCL and QL, DM7 and DM5, and TF and DM3 each get their own look.
  • Tested in the editorEvery change and build loaded in CL Editor 5.8.1, QL Editor 5.8.1 or DM Editor 2.0.1 with the values matching.
  • Gone in 24 hoursYour files are deleted after a day. No account, no install.

One tab for every Yamaha desk

Drop the show file and the page reads which family it is. You land on the channel names table first, the one every Yamaha editor has: channel, icon, name and a column per color, with the patch, gain, 48V, HPF and fader next to it. Strips, the patch grid, bus names and scenes are one tap away. On a phone you get one panel at a time, names first.

Tested first, then open

Yamaha files carry checksums, and every stored scene keeps its own names, colors and patch. So every kind of change stays read-only until it is tested: our file loads in the Yamaha editor (CL Editor 5.8.1, QL Editor 5.8.1 or DM Editor 2.0.1) with every value matching. Changes go to the current scene, except names, colors and patch on CL shows in the current file format, which passed the scene recall test. The screen tells you, for your file, what is open and why the rest is not.

Mixing on something else?

The DiGiCo Session Maker, the dLive Show Maker and the S6L Show Maker do the same job for those desks.

FAQ

Yamaha Show Maker questions

What is the Yamaha Show Maker?

A free web tool for Yamaha console show files. Drop a show file and it opens in your browser: channel names, colors, icons and patch in a table drawn after the Yamaha editor for that console, plus strips, the patch grid, bus names and scenes. On CL, QL and DM7 shows you can change them and download the file, and you can build a show from your input list.

Which Yamaha consoles does it cover?

CL (CL1, CL3, CL5), QL (QL1, QL5), DM7 and DM5 (and their Compact models), DM3 (DM3, DM3 Standard) and TF (TF1, TF3, TF5, TF-RACK). RIVAGE PM is coming: its files don't open here yet. LS9, M7CL and PM5D are not on the list.

Which files do I drop?

The show file the console or the editor saved: .CLF for CL and QL, .dm7f or .dmxf for DM7 and DM5, .dm3f for DM3 and .tff for TF. A CL or QL scene file is not a whole show: save the show with File > Save and drop that. Don't drop user key files (.CLU, .dm7u). They hold passwords, so the page refuses them before they leave your computer.

Why does it ask CL or QL?

CL and QL save the same .CLF file, and it doesn't always say which desk made it. Pick your console once and the page remembers it in this browser. If a file looks like the other family (its comment or a QL-only patch says so), the page asks again and puts that family first. You can switch it from the title bar of the console view.

Can it change my file?

Yes, where that change has loaded in the real Yamaha editor with every value matching. As of October 2026: on CL and QL shows you can change names, colors, icons, patch, HPF, faders, channel on and mix, matrix, DCA and mute group names, head amp gain and 48V on the console's own inputs, and download Yamaha's CSV set of a CL5 or QL show (CL1 and CL3 CSV sets wait for their own import test). On DM7 shows from firmware 2.01 you can change names, colors, patch, HPF, faders and channel on, and gain and 48V on the console's own inputs. Stage box head amps aren't read yet. Changes go to the current scene, and on CL shows in the current file format a switch also sends names, colors and patch to every stored scene. QL files in an older file format (scene format 5), DM7 Compact, DM5, older DM7 firmware, DM3 and TF files open read-only for now, and the screen says why.

How is it tested?

Every change and every file this page makes is tested: it was first written by the page's own code and loaded in CL Editor 5.8.1, QL Editor 5.8.1 or DM Editor 2.0.1 on our test machine. Each value was checked against what the editor showed and saved, and the editor's own re-save matched. Anything not tested that way stays read-only. A value marked with a ? was read from your file but not yet checked against the editor. A dash means that part of the file isn't read yet.

Can I build a Yamaha show from my input list?

Yes, for CL (CL1, CL3, CL5), QL1 and DM7. Drop the list (Excel, CSV, PDF, Word or text) or paste the names, pick the console, then fix names, types, stereo and 48V and build. The show starts from a blank session we saved in the Yamaha editor, and the patch stays that session's, so patch the stage in the editor. The show file turns 48V on for the console's own inputs; for stage box inputs, turn it on from the console or in the editor. For CL5 and QL1 you can also build the Yamaha CSV of channel names, colors and icons (no 48V or patch), which CL Editor and QL Editor import into a show you already have; CL1 and CL3 CSV sets wait for their own import test. QL5 builds wait for their own load test.

Will the file load on my console?

We tested every change and every build on this page in the Yamaha editor for that console: CL Editor 5.8.1, QL Editor 5.8.1 and DM Editor 2.0.1 loaded our files with every value matching. Still, open every file in the Yamaha editor for your console (CL Editor, QL Editor, DM Editor, DM3 Editor or TF Editor), save it there, and look it over before a show.

Does the site run the Yamaha editor for me?

No. The site never runs Yamaha software. It reads your file with its own code. The Yamaha editors are free, so check every file on your own computer.

Is it free, and is it made by Yamaha?

It's free. It's not made by or affiliated with Yamaha. It's built by a touring FOH engineer in Nashville, for the road. Your files are deleted after 24 hours.
